The Mall of America

Despite a really rough couple of weeks, I was finally able to take Kristy to the Mall of America. We had planned a trip to the mall as a Valentines gift to ourselves. Kristy had never been there and I remembered cool things like giant LEGO statues. My parents were awesome, and despite everything that had been, and continued to go on around their house, they still offered to watch the boys for us.

The mall was a great opportunity to test out the new Nikon D90. I felt like I learned a lot from reading “The Nikon D90 Companion” (by Ben Long), but I needed a better place to practice than just around the house. Of course, as soon as I tried to lay down to sleep that night all I could think about was how many more shots I should have taken. Still, it was good practice for stepping out of my comfort zone and getting the picture I actually wanted to get.

Kristy and I had a great time. We walked all four levels of the mall at least once. I think we got in close to 4 miles of walking. Our feet were hurting, but it was worth it.
